The new Proteus series of arbitrary waveform transceivers combine the ability to transmit, receive and perform digital signal processing in a single instrument
Tel Hanan, February 2019 – Tabor Electronics announces its All-New Proteus Series product line. The new series introduces a new class of instruments, the Arbitrary Waveform Transceiver. Proteus combine a high speed arbitrary waveform generator, a high speed digitizer and a user programmable FPGA, in a single instrument.
Based on a PXIe platform, the modular, compact and cost effective system offers industry leading performance, various configuration options, an innovative task oriented programming, and user customizable FPGA for application specific solutions. Loaded with technologically advanced options such as real time data streaming and fast feedback loop for environment dependent waveform generation, the Proteus system opens the door to a world of infinite possibilities.
As a first stage the new Proteus series models will be offered in PXIe platform and Desktop and Benchtop flavors will follow shortly. The P1282M and P1284M are 1.25GS/s and the P2582M and P2584M are 2.5GS/s arbitrary waveform generators, with 2 and 4 channel outputs respectively. The P9082M is a dual channel 9GS/s arbitrary waveform generator. All models can be upgraded with a dual channel 2.7GS/s digitizer to transform the instrument to an arbitrary waveform transceiver.
Leading Features:
Dual or Four channel 1.25GS/s & 2.5 GS/s, or Dual channel 9GS/s AWG configurations
Dual channel, 9GHz Bandwidth, 2.7GS/s 12 bit digitizer option for a complete arbitrary waveform transceiver system
Integrated NCO for digital upconverting to microwave frequencies
Excellent phase noise and spurious performance
Feedback control system for conditional waveform generation
Modular PXI Express platform, easily scalable to hundreds of channels.
High speed PCIe GEN3 x8 lanes communication interface
Up to 16GS/s waveform memory with the ability to simultaneously generate and download waveforms
Real time data streaming directly to the FPGA for continuous and infinite waveform generation
User customizable FPGA for demodulation, digital filtering and application specific solutions
Innovative task oriented sequence programming for maximum flexibility to generate any imaginable scenario
Jonathan Netzer Tabor’s product director commented: “When we first started planning our next generation of products, we knew we needed to create a flexible and customizable platform that will solve even the most demanding applications. The result exceeded even our own expectations. The Proteus series is no longer just a generator but a fully integrated system of generator and digitizer. Combined with the most advanced technology, industry leading performance and cost effective platform, our new Proteus series of arbitrary waveform transceivers offers unparalleled capabilities at an affordable price, and this is just a taste of what is yet to come.”
“With the launch of the Proteus series and the recently introduced Lucid Series, we’re finally starting to see the results to my long-term technology investment decisions taken 3 years back, when I was named Tabor’s CEO.” Said Ron Glazer, Tabor’s CEO. “The recent launches are just the beginning of many new technologies and products to follow shortly that are geared up towards our emerging markets and existing customers’ needs”.
