The Desktop version of the Proteus series offers up to 12 channels in a 4U, half 19” dedicated chassis. The compact form size and small footprint saves valuable bench space.
For applications in quantum physics, aerospace, or communications the Desktop Proteus arbitrary waveform generator is a valuable tool, providing a synchronized, phase coherent output in a space efficient and cost effective PXI module.
The Tabor Proteus can be used as a baseband generator, IQ generator or direct to RF Generator with variable sample rates up to a maximum of 1.25GS/s, 2.5GS/s and 9GS/s. RF units have digitally implemented IQ Modulators and LO’s provided by Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO) technology. By using multiple Nyquist zones signals can be created through X-Band.
When used in conjunction with the optional digitizer the FPGA has user definable processing blocks, such as digital up and down conversion, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) Filters, high speed averaging and other mathematical functions to create real-time closed loop processing blocks.
Users can program the instrument from the on-board PC using various programming environments such as MATLAB, LabView, Python, and more. An advanced solution for communications where new transmission standards that fuel the next generation of connectivity, such as 5G, WiFi-6, and UWB, all rely on utilizing significant amounts of spectral bandwidth.
